CvSU CDC Pedagogical Contents

1.1 Teaching methods of the teacher that you observed

Teaching methods used by teachers at CvSU CDC, especially the English teacher that I observed, are technology-based teaching methods where the teacher explains the learning material using presentations that she has made. although she uses technology-based teaching methods, she also still has interactive teaching where students are stimulated to think critically about the learning material through several ways, for example, the question and answer method and discussion. then, to develop students' abilities, the teacher gives several assignments at school. if it is not completed, students can continue their work at home.

1.2 Their learning materials and innovation

In their learning, students at CvSU CDC have several learning materials. The first one is the printed book where they can use the printed book to see the learning materials. Then, it is not uncommon for teachers to use videos and some relevant and supports illustrations as their learning materials. Teachers also usually provide some reading materials such as short stories that they use during reading hours. This certainly supports students' innovation in their learning because the learning materials used are not monotonous like only depending on the chalkboard.

1.3 Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers

In their teaching, teachers at CvSU CDC, especially the English teacher who is my cooperating teacher, use an English book entitled "Intergrated English for Effective Communication" for grade 6 published by Phoenix Publishing House. This book is certainly in accordance with their curriculum, namely the Kto12 Curriculum. Then, the technology used by English teachers is by using laptops and TVs to present material in class.

1.4 Authentic assessment used by the teachers

In English lessons, the assessment used is in the form of taking spelling scores, then multiple choice questions and the rest are assessments of assignments given such as in-class assignments and homework.

1.5 Overall Impression of My Cooperating Teacher

Yes, this is my cooperating teacher. Her name is Mrs. Mylyn A. Ramirez. She is an English teacher and also a vice-administrator at CvSU CDC. She is usually called Teacher Mhy. During my time as a student teacher there, Teacher Mhy always entrusted me with the class and learning materials starting from the teaching plan to the learning activities. She was also ready to correct and help me if I had any difficulties. Teacher Mhy allowed me to use my teaching style as long as it was in accordance with the curriculum and the needs of the students there. Thank you, Teacher Mhy!
