1.1 School Profile

Let's get to know more about the place where I was assigned as a student teacher! In this program, I was assigned to teach at a school called Cavite State University Child Development Center. This school is a private transparent institution under the supervision of the Cavite State University that was established in 1986. The school provides classes for pre-elementary and elementary education. The core values of the school are Truth, Excellence, and Service.

Cavite State University Child Development Center, commonly abbreviated as CvSU CDC is led by Ms. Sonia R. Sesma as president of CvSU CDC, Dr. Annie Ferrer as dean of the college of education and vice-president of CvSU CDC, Prof. Julie Guevara as administrator, Mrs. Mylyn Ramirez as vice administrator, and Mr. Sherwin Bugarin as head-teacher of CvSU CDC.

1.2 Academic support system

CvSU CDC provides several services and supports for students to achieve their academic success. One of them is by providing the best teaching in every class, providing tutorial programs before exams for students who still do not understand the learning material in class. Then, CvSU CDC also provides Learning Management System (LMS) services for students to submit assignments, view grades, and so on. This certainly makes it easier for teachers and parents to monitor their students' academics. Not only focusing on academics, CvSU CDC also provides support in non-academic fields such as subjects related to ethics, arts and culture, scouts, and sports. 

1.3 Teaching system

In terms of teaching, CvSU complies with the regulations issued by the Department of Education or DepEd which is the main formulator of education policy in the Philippines. Furthermore, in its teaching system, CvSU CDC uses the student-centered learning method which focuses on student activities in the classroom. Teachers use the K to 12 curriculum in their teaching. In this school, the learning process only lasts 4 days from Monday to Thursday, with a time duration of 07:30-11:00 for pre-elementary school, and 07:30-16:40 for elementary school.

1.4 School Facilities

School facilities are one of the supports for the success of students and teachers in school. In this school, CvSU CDC provides adequate facilities for students and teachers. In each classroom, CvSU CDC provides a classroom equipped with a TV with HDMI cable, a fan or Air Conditioner, and a chalkboard. Then, the school is also equipped with student toilets, teacher toilets, a large sports field, a clean canteen, clean laboratories, a very well-organized teacher's office, a computer laboratory, as well as a printing machine and also a photocopy machine to make it easier for teachers to copy their teaching materials or other documents.

  It's the day! Welcome to my teaching practice! 1.1 Procedures of teaching The day of my teaching practice arrived. I started my teaching practice on October 09-19, 2023. In this teaching, I had 2 classes, namely class VI Matapat at 08.40-09.40 am and class VI Maaasahan at 01.00-02.00 pm. As soon as I arrived in class, I immediately greeted my students with enthusiasm. Then I ask them to open their notebooks for spelling activities but before that, I will review yesterday's material first. Teaching Plan

  What is my "Teaching Plan"?  1.1 Curriculum As I mentioned earlier that CvCU CDC uses the K to 12 curriculum in their teaching and learning activities. In my teaching, I really try to follow their curriculum because Indonesia has a different curriculum from the Philippines, so that what I teach still fits the needs of the students at CvSU CDC. 1.2 Teaching plan related to your major Before I start teaching, of course, I have a teaching plan to help me fulfill what the pupils need. Like any other teacher, I start the class by greeting my students in class. Then as usual, the learning activity starts by asking them to prepare their notebooks for the spelling activity. This spelling activity is done every day. After the spelling is done, I will continue the learning material by using the presentation that I have made before.
